In summer I'm usually not doing too much so my bag is a small Dooney and Burke Cross body. It was a birthday present to myself and although I cant fit much in it in summer there really isnt that much I need. Usually its just my phone, wallet, a few hair ties and some loose change or a pack of 5 gum. the inner pockets are great for holding cash and coupons and having a small bag means no digging. It's light weight and matches everything which is great for summer. |
Hair stuff
My hair is super long. Like more then 2 feet long. So hair ties are a must. I have bought SO many packs of hair ties over the years but always loose them! This summer I've been sort of obsessed with scarves and tie them into my hair daily. (I have quite an extensive head scarf collection.) they make super cute bandanna like headbands and can be found for like a dollar at thrift stores.
My Fragrence
In summer I usually use a litter Roller ball fragrance from Sula called "Champagne Sugar". (you can buy it on amazon but i bought mine on sale from ULTA for like $5) It's a super light summery sent and is small enough that it fits in my bag and is great for on the go application. Plus roller ball means it goes exactly where you want it and I find that it sticks better.
Journal
I always have a journal. It's just something I need for all my thoughts lists, and anything else i need, I have like 5 journals in varying sizes and prints for different things, its jusr a grat way for me to organize my thoughts and my day.
Thrift tip: Moleskin's are great but can be expensive look at TJ MAXX first. If your not picky about your journal or don't need one right away check out the "red dot" bin at Barnes and Nobel, (top 2 journals in picture were found there) they often have last seasons note books and paper products for half off. I've gotten several great non book things in that bin. also check out etsy shops where you can get very unique things for low prices for example I'm considering buying a journal from Indian Journals on etsy, their pieces are inexpensive but some of the prints are so cute!

My Wallet
Because I'm limited with space I use a Vera Bradley Zip ID case in Island Bloom (retired since then.) It was only $12 and is literally the best thing ever. Its small but is the perfect size for my school and state ID's a credit card or two and some cash. The Key ring is great for attaching key chains and keys. so it doubles as my keys and wallet. I've been using it for all of college and I never misplace my ID or key because its big enough to find easily and I can put my little reward cards on the key chain and its super easy to remember at restaurants.
That's pretty much it. I will definitely be doing a back to school essentials, but in the summer I make everything basic.
