Technically my semester ended last Wednesday, when I turned in my last final and went back to my room to pack everything up before I left for the semester. (In my sorority we switch rooms every semester so everything in my room had to be packed up and put on either the desk or my bed so the room could be cleaned before switching. Anyway now that I've been home for a few days and am slowly recovering from a cold I want to take a post and tell you all the things I did this semester. There's a giveaway at the end so bare with me. This semester was legitimately a whirlwind of activity, which is why it was so difficult for me to post this semester. I arrived a week early to school for work week, which is a full week of recruitment practice for sorority members. It was a ton of work that didn't end at the end of the week. Leading straight up to the first day of class. Actual Rush wasn't until two weeks later so we still has regular practices up until the start then once it started that was my main focus. The work didn't end when we offered out our bids though. There was bid day and then the semester long new member process until our members became initiated. I got my "little" or "baby" as we call them at UIUC, and thankfully had the most points out of all the Non-exec members. Academically I was enrolled in 18 credit hours of classes, and although it sounds like a lot, two of my classes were very easy, and one didn't require attendance although it was a bit more difficult. I was taking a required research advertising course, and although research really isn't for me it taught me a lot of skills for my future in adverting to make me more well rounded as an advertiser and am glad that I took it. I also took an introduction to Meteorology, which although atmospheric sciences is only vaguely interesting to me I decided to bite the bullet and take it since it cross checked for both a science and a math gen-ed. It bored me to tears at times and although I struggled a bit I ended with a B in the class so that's all that really matters. Macroeconomics is another required class I was taking this semester, but all the homework was online and attending lectures wasn't required so that was good. I was pursuing a minor in English so I decided to take Intro to Shakespeare thinking it would force me to read and appreciate Shakespeare and his plays. however I really didn't have time and just ended up looking everything up on spark notes. It was an interesting class, but I'm not so sure about minoring in English anymore. Lastly my creative classes were the good ones. Intro to Design was an 8 week long art class where the lectures were easy and as long as you followed the instructions on the homework you got a 100%. There was only one quiz and the final was a group project. I ended the class with 100% making it my first A+! I also took a class called Exploring Creativity. through the semester the class met once a week and then saw a play, art exhibit, concert etc. one night a week. The class was created because of a grant to expose students to art so all the tickets were free and it was a really fun and eye opening class. I was also very involved outside of Greek Life and Academics. I'm a writer for the Odyssey newspaper, (click the link on the sidebar to read my articles) a involved member of the American Advertising Federation chapter at my school, and I had two internships. One with Edventure Partners a company that has an advertising competition every semester, our client was AT&T and we were provided with a budget of 3,000 to create an on campus campaign in order to premote them to students as potential workplace as well as a network provider. My second internship was a Campus Rep position with Bobble water bottles. I was provided with 50 water bottles and lots of bobble swag to give away through campus events this semester. It was a ton of fun and I highly recommend the program, especially if your looking to get into marketing, advertising, PR or event planning. Here are some pictures of the events: Now I had so many Bobbles left over at the end of semester that I gave some away to my friends, sorority sisters, and family. But I saved a swag pack to give away to you! Although Bobble didn't directly give this for me for a giveaway It did come to me from them for on campus advertising free of charge and I was a rep for their company, but its a brand I represent proudly. Bobbles are made in the USA out of recycled materials, they have a filter and can be used to purify faucet/tap and drinking fountain water. I've been using mine for an entire semester and although its not the most durable it's the perfect size and shape for my needs! Winner gets to choose one of the bobbles pictured below, either Hot Pink, Blue or Black as your color. Giveaway also includes a Koozi, Pen, and Sticker. One winner is chosen, However, because this is my first giveaway, If there are over 5,000 entries 2 winners will be chosen (second winner gets bobble only, picks from remaining colors). Must be in the USA to enter. If you dont win the giveaway but are still interested in a bobble you can use the code BOBBLEROCKS for 20% off on their website! What accomplishment are you most proud of from this past year or semester?

I am definitely most proud of the fact that I got an A in my Seminar class. It's the hardest class in my department at my school. I wasn't sure what to think when I turned in my thesis, but I am so glad I am that much closer to graduating! You sound like you had a busy semester! Glad everything worked out awesomely for you.

I literally nearly died when I realized that Foellinger Auditorium was in the background of a picture of a post of this blog which I just happened to stumble upon from Blog Love because as it turns out... the University of Illinois is my alma mater also! I completely understand the chaos of this semester and wonder how anyone can survive it like a normal person. I took Meteorology and came SO CLOSE to taking Intro to Design (I used to be an art major), but I must say, Exploring Creativity looks like a fabulously awesome class.
